Our museum has something for all ages! We are a ‘hands on’ attraction where children are welcome to explore, complete the smuggling trail, find those pesky hidden rats and dress up as a smuggler as you discover clues and secrets on your way around the house. Children will love exploring the creepy cellars and crawling through the secret tunnel. Come and discover the history of Gunsgreen House over the years see the amazing ‘tea chute’- the only one of its kind, where smuggled tea was hidden from prying eyes..
We have free parking, toilet facilities on site, baby changing and lift access for push-chairs and wheelchairs.
Please note that occasionally we may close the Museum for Private Functions, the top two floors of Gunsgreen House is a self catering holiday let, and not open to the public.
Dates for Private Functions will be posted online well in advance and you should not be able to book those dates online.
We are pleased to be able to offer disabled access to all of the main attraction at Gunsgreen House. Due to the nature of the historic house, we find it much easier to have a member of staff accompany those requiring disabled access. Our friendly staff are more than happy to help so please just ask on arrival. Guide dogs are permitted in the museum.
